A job at Google… an office literally out of this world… starbucks next door…
combine these three and you have the faint idea of my dream job… and believe it or not… there was a posting for a job like that…
http://www.google.com/jobs/lunar_job.html
Check it out… A google office on the moon…
that was funny… and being in the kind of mood that I am in today, I read on… and every word of it that I read, I grew more and more convinced that this was the ideal job for me… all the pieces were in place and fit perfectly… so I applied for it… Here was the chain of events that followed…
Me to google:
“Hi,
I just read the posting for a job in the googlunaplex and I am thoroughly interested in it…
I could not decide on the resume to attach with this mail… hence I am scribbling a few details in this mail it self:
Qualifications:
1. I am over 18 (24 in fact! Hope that does not make me over qualified for the job!)
2. I am a resident of earth and can prove it. (however when I dream I generally go places outside earth)
3. as far as humor is concerned, I think I beat others on it… I was the undisputed PJ King in my college days for all the four years…
Why you should hire me:
1. I have been juggling with data since I started my professional career in IT industry just < 2 years ago.
2. I have a willingness to learn and have so far excelled in any tests held in harsh conditions (outworldly infact).
3. Most of the solutions that I developed for my current employer seemed out of this world when I first proposed them.
4. I love observing people and trends, with me up on the moon, I would have a wider vision and better output.
Possible areas where there could be trouble in hiring me:
1. You might face some problems in getting me inside the spaceship… I have put on some extra pounds around my tummy… but I am working on it and should be off them in a couple of months time.
2. You might face some problems in getting my employer to let go of me… but I guess the starbucks next door would get the person trying to hold me back change his mind and tag along with me…
If any more information is needed… do let me know…

Google to Me:
“Thank you for contacting Google about our Copernicus Research Center.
We’ve received an overwhelming response to this opportunity and are not
currently accepting additional resumes. We will, however, keep your
information on file should we have an opening in the future. At the
current staffing levels, we anticipate that we may need additional
applicants on or around April Fool’s Day in 2104. Until then, we
appreciate your interest in Google and your taking the time to write us.
Sincerely,
The Googlunar Recruiting Team“
